I worked with the young people of Bashley Road Travellers Site in Park Royal, London, from Spring through Summer 2024. Its position in a corner of the largest industrial business park in Europe means Bashley Road is surrounded by constant development, with Google and Microsoft currently building huge data centres on both sides. The site is constantly under the perceived threat of eviction. The young people decided to we should simply document their day to day lives with a particular focus on their relationship to their horses.
The film was part of a wider process of engaging young people in Ealing in filmmaking through a programme, Pattern Film, which I designed and delivered in collaboration with Bollo Studios, the creative arm of Bollo Brook Youth Centre.
